The event drew more than 3,100 district and county board members, administrators and staff to the San Diego Convention Center.

The Annual Education Conference in San Diego inaugurated five separate Student Issues Conference Groups – each focused on American Indian, Asian/Pacific Islander, black, or Hispanic students, or students served by county offices of education.
The California School Boards Association will take the lead on teacher tenure reform and safeguarding the interests of students in charter schools when the state Legislature reconvenes for the new year.
