CSBA’s Policy Platform provides a broad policy framework for implementing the association’s mission to set the agenda for the public schools and students of California. It guides the association’s policy and political leadership activities.
What's new?
The CSBA Policy Platform Committee met throughout 2008 to review proposals and developed analyses for all suggested amendments that were received from the field. As a part of their discussion the committee considered the implicit beliefs of the association including, but not limited to, supporting local control and opposing unfunded mandates. As an additional means of gathering broad input, CSBA committees and task forces also reviewed the platform items related to their particular subject matter and provided recommendations to the Policy Platform Committee.
The Delegate Assembly had opportunities to review and discuss all proposed amendments and recommended additional input during breakout sessions in May of 2008 and again in December of 2008 and unanimously adopted the 2009-2010 Policy Platform at the December Delegate Assembly meeting.
